Knockankelly Farm Holiday Cottages

Welcome to Knockankelly Farm Holiday Cottages

Knockankelly Farm is a small traditional livestock farm on the beautiful Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland where we breed native Scottish Galloway Cattle.

Arran is the most southerly of the Scottish Islands and benefits from the gulf stream which makes the climate very mild.  The island is often described as Scotland in miniature with everything from high mountains in the north to lush farmland in the south.

Here at Knockankelly Farm, we welcome visitors to our two self-catering cottages "The Summer House" and "Saorsa", cyclists, bikers and walkers are all particularly welcome and we have facilities on site to wash and store mountain bikes, after a good hard day on the mountain bike trails that run right by our doorstep, we can also dry and warm wet outdoor gear, ready for the next day whether you are cycling, travelling by motorbike or walking.

Check out Arran Bike Club website for descriptions and maps for both Mountain and road bike routes on Arran.

If you would prefer a more leisurely break on Arran, then why not spend some time travelling around the Island and sampling some of our wonderful local food and drink, and discovering some of our many craftworkers.  We have a Brewery at Cladach which is just outside Brodick, right next door to Brodick Castle gardens.  It is also just around the corner from Home Farm, where you will find Arran Aromatics, who now sell their products worldwide, as well as the Arran Cheese Shop for lots of lovely cheese and other tasty goodies.

Also at Cladach you will find Pooch Boutique for local handmade crafts, particularly jewellery and bags. You will also find Cladach Sawmill and Garden Centre with lots of lovely plants and garden goodies.

You will also find, on your travels around the Island, more cheese, chocolate, baking, jewellery, artwork in many forms, whisky and great eating places, serving local produce.  You will also find Brodick Castle, gardens and country park and the museum plus countless outdoor activities, (and plenty of indoor activities in case of the odd bad weather day!) - enjoy exploring!

You can see the sights and follow the taste and craft trails at the same time!
